Interview with &#8220;the manual scavengers&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During my stay in India, I had the opportunity to spend a day closely following the work of <strong>manual scavengers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Manual scavengers are <strong>part of the lowest caste of the Indian social system<\/strong>: <strong>the untouchables<\/strong>, those who do the most humble jobs and are treated like stray animals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Their job? Clean the sewers by hand,<\/strong> sometimes immersing themselves completely in them.<\/p>\n<p>With <strong>Dilavar,<\/strong> who today manages a team of manual scavengers, I also talked about happiness: I&#8217;m traveling around the world to understand how people can be happy in different ways.<\/p>\n<p>To do this <strong>I also asked him the ten questions of the happiness questionnaire: here is his recipe.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During my stay in India, I had the opportunity to spend a day closely following the work of manual scavengers.
